Information for Potential Adopters

At FaithNFriends, we study Horse Learning Theory to rehabilitate our rescues. This means we base our training and rehabilitation off how horses learn and how horses behave. We use the L.I.M.A approach which stands for Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive approach to behavior modification. In doing so, we are seeking to use the most ethical, humane, and horse-friendly method of training. We understand that horses learn best when in an environment that best suits their needs as horses- this means access to other equine companions, freedom of movement, and access to grazing/continous eating. We ask that potential adopters read through this information and be willing to use low-stress, horse-friendly training/interacting methods and provide adopted equines access to their fundamental neccessties. This is the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants’ Position Statement on using L.I.M.A and emphasizing positive reinforcement https://iaabc.org/about/LIMA
