Baby Donkey’s Story

Baby Donkey came to Faith N Friends as an owner surrender after being purchased at auction at five weeks of age!  The buyer who purchased her dam did not want the foal.   A woman bought her at auction and surrendered her to Faith N Friends two days later knowing that the little foal would get the care she so badly needed.  This little girl had a very rough start; she cried non-stop for her mother for the first two nights.  We paired her with Coco the Super Mini to see if they would bond and that helped a lot.  We taught her how to drink goat milk from a bucket and then we went through a ton of goat milk ($800 worth!) – for such a wee thing she had a huge appetite!

Baby Donkey gradually became used to people and became a little love bug.  She is like a big puppy and will follow right at your heels and loves to put her head in your arms and snuggle. She is incredibly playful and super fast! She gets along great with the other minis and horses. She can get pushy with her love and will need a gentle, but firm person to both love her and set boundaries.
