Reading with the Rescues

Are you interested in joining our Reading with the Rescues (RWR) program?

RWR is a unique literacy and therapy program that pairs a certified speech pathologist with special needs children to support language development, literacy skills, and social growth. The program also incorporates Equine-Assisted Activities and Certified Occupational Therapy techniques to improve fine motor skills, agility, and core strength. Any child may participate—a diagnosis is not required—and all activities are conducted using our fully rehabbed equine partners.

The program is recommended for ages 4–10, though modifications can be made for older students with higher support needs or limited communication abilities. For questions or additional information, contact Faith at faith@faithnfriends.org.

Program Structure

• Six-week program (Week 1 online, Weeks 2-6 in person)
• Attendance is important; children who miss more than two classes may be removed to make space for those on the waitlist
• Program fees are non-refundable

Typical Schedule
When: Thursdays from 3–4, 4–5, or 5–6
Cost: $50/session
