Surrendering Your Horse

The first step in the owner surrender process is to complete the Owner Surrender Form. Once you fill out and sign the form, a PDF copy will automatically be sent to both the email address you provide and to Faith N Friends.

In addition to the form, please send a separate email with photos to faith@faithnfriends.org. Include clear front, side, and back views, as well as hoof photos, and attach any available veterinary records such as current Coggins, vaccination history, dental exams or floats, and any other relevant medical information. A separate form is required for each horse you wish to surrender, and we encourage you to provide as much detail as possible. The form is electronic and can be easily completed on your phone or computer.

Once all information is received, it will be reviewed by our board members. You will receive an email notification if your surrender is approved, along with an estimated timeframe for when Faith N Friends may be able to accept your horse. Please note that we often have a waiting list, and each case is evaluated individually based on need and available space. The number of horses we can take in fluctuates frequently due to circumstances on both the owner’s end and our capacity.
FNF does not accept stallions; all horses must be gelded prior to intake.

The majority of our intakes come from owner surrenders—individuals who, with courage and love for their horse, recognize they are no longer able to provide proper care or may be relocating and choose to entrust their equine to Faith N Friends.

While we do consider special or emergency circumstances, all required information must still be provided. We gratefully accept donations of any kind from owners—tack, supplies, and financial contributions all directly support our ability to care for incoming horses.
